Gourmet Marinara Pasta Sauce

Gourmet Marinara Pasta Sauce

After trying this pasta sauce recipe you'll never buy store bought again. Full of onion and garlicy goodness, it's super flavorful and goes great on any Italian dish.

Sean here, and I wanted to share with you what I think is probably the best pasta sauce I've ever had...

I know that's a big claim! Here's the good news; it's true - after having this sauce for the first time, I knew immediately that I had to share it - it's that good lol...

It's based on a recipe I used to make lasagna; maybe you remember, I made it for Sarah's birthday (awwwww). That was adapted from HealthyRecipeEcstasy.com.

This is our go-to for great tasting pasta, fast! As a vegan you soon realize if you're to enjoy your life, getting plants to taste amazing is crucial - that's why we rely heavily on a couple staple recipes, and this is BY FAR my favorite.

You can make pasta, pizza, gluten-free eggplant parmesan...

BTW here are what I think are the easiest and tastiest cuisines to make quickly:

  • Italian food
  • Mexican food
  • Thai food

These three types of food, in general, seem to be super friendly to the Vegan Gluten-Free diet specifically, and of course great for vegan and non-vegan alike!

Back to the sauce; I think the biggest thing is getting the onions and garlic right. If you do that, you nail this one for sure :)

INGREDIENTS:

[A]

  • 3 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 - 1.5 Onions (depending on the flavor you want), Diced
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil

[B]

  • 1 14.5 oz Can No-Salt-Added Tomato Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Fresh Basil Leaves, Chopped
  • Salt, To Taste
  • Black Pepper, To Taste

[OPTIONAL]

  • Red Pepper Flakes, To Taste
  • Mushrooms, Chopped/Sliced
  • 1 Cup Chopped Marinated Artichoke Hearts

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Combine [A] in a large frying pan and simmer on low heat for 20 or so min

  • Add [B] to [A] and bring to a boil

  • Then simmer for 10 min

Add to your favorite pasta dish and enjoy :)

If you're like Sarah and I, you'll be using this one once or twice a week - it really is that good :)
